Happy birthday Papa. You are the greatest and most precious gift of my life.
There hasn't been a day when I didn't fold my hands in prayer to thank God to bless me by giving me you as my father. You may have transitioned to another realm but I know you watch over me. I feel your presence all the time. I want to tell you that yes, I find you in what you send across. Your fragrance, your favorite music that waft in the breeze and all that. I get it all Papa.
Your abundant love, strength, integrity, courage, endurance, perseverance, and determination keeps me going papa. You have shown me leadership and faith. I live by it every moment. You've gifted me the sense to be always appreciative of what God has given us. I am getting better at it every day papa.
Thank you for making my life so beautiful. The guavas, mangoes and peaches you plucked from our kitchen garden were the sweetest I have ever tasted. From playing Plot 4 with me, splashing water on me as I ran in the garden, drawing and painting birds with me, buying me so many books and enticing me to read them, many a times even read them to me, looking at me with pride when I was riding scooter and motorcycles while still in school - I did it for the priceless smile and glisten in your eyes, carrying me to my bed when I would sleep off anywhere in the house... to what not... I couldn't have asked for anything more.
You made me bournvita and so many milk shakes and gave those to me while I was sleeping - in morning when I didnt get up yet and night when I had slept off - you held the glass in one hand and supported me with another to make me sit. I just gulped. What a royal life you gave me !
Thank you for making me feel so special all the time. You took me along to your office during my holidays, despite being busy in meetings you gave me your time and attention. You let me dream anything, made me feel important, never stopped me from doing anything, never questioned me, never took me for granted, respected me as an individual even when I was small, let me decide everything from trivial to most important financial decisions - I said yes and you did that, you let me express without fear, you showed me the kind of a person I wanted to become... you did all of it with so much grace and style. You are my rock. I love you papa.
The crinkle of your eyes as you chuckled with mischief and the rumble and energy of your voice and laughter is keeping me warm. It's just two days back I heard you call me from your room - 'Goldie bete so jao'. Just the way you said always when I was up late studying. Thank you papa, I live for such moments.
Can't forget this one moment, I had run to watch the climax of a movie and slipped in the corridor. You were sitting far off, you came running to prevent me from falling but slipped behind me. We laughed that day but today tears well up my eyes. No, not of sorrow. You didnt teach me that. These are tears of gratitude to God. For I have you. Always and Forever.
